Where Glass Tiles Work Best
- Kitchen splashbacks — wipes clean after cooking.
- Shower & bathroom walls — moisture-friendly with proper tanking.
- Feature walls & niches — create depth and movement with iridescent looks.
- Pools & spas (selected mosaics) — choose pool-rated sheets and adhesives.
Installation & Care Essentials
- Adhesive: use a bright white, polymer-modified thin-set suitable for glass.
- Substrates in wet areas: tank/waterproof as required (follow BS 5385 guidance).
- Cutting: score-and-snap or wet saw; use nippers for mosaic detail; smooth edges.
- Grout: lighter shades minimise the mosaic “grid”; darker grout adds contrast.
- Care: microfibre cloth + mild detergent; avoid abrasives on glossy finishes.
Note: Most glass tiles are wall-only; some mosaics may be floor-rated — always check product suitability.

Glass Tiles — FAQs
Are glass tiles suitable for showers?
Yes — with correct prep and glass-safe adhesive. Tank wet areas and follow manufacturer guidance.
Can glass tiles be used on floors?
Most are wall-only. Some mosaics may be floor-rated — check the product’s suitability and slip rating.
What adhesive should I use?
A bright white, polymer-modified thin-set designed for glass tiles helps preserve colour and translucency.
Which grout colour works best?
Light grout blends for a seamless look; darker grout adds graphic contrast. Use the sample to test under your lighting.
How do I cut glass mosaics?
Score-and-snap or use a wet saw; for small pieces, use mosaic nippers and smooth any sharp edges.
