Installation guidance (UK)
Standards & classification
Porcelain classification per BS EN 14411. Follow relevant BS 5385 guidance for substrate flatness, movement joints, and fixing methods, alongside adhesive manufacturer datasheets.
Substrate & layout
Large-format tiles need flat, rigid substrates. Dry-lay to agree cuts and sight-lines. Use a porcelain-grade powdered adhesive, back-butter, and a levelling system to minimise lipping.
Underfloor heating (UFH)
Confirm screed cure. Switch UFH off 24–48 hours pre-tiling; recommission gradually post-grout. Keep surface temps ≤ ~30 °C and include movement joints where required.
