Why the Ambleside Victorian Floor Tile pattern?
The Ambleside Victorian Floor Tile pattern merges traditional appeal with modern minimalism. Its clever, well-balanced design, based on a simple two-shape arrangement of squares and rectangles, works well in both traditional and modern locations. Whether set diagonally or straight, the Ambleside is simpler to install than many other Victorian patterns because there are fewer shapes to coordinate. Its versatility makes it perfect for indoor or outdoor areas, kitchens, bathrooms, paths, hallways and much more.
Appearance:
Creating a minimalist and more modern look.
Installation:
It is less challenging to install due to the reduced number of tile sizes and shapes that need to be aligned, which compromises the pattern repeat. It can be installed straight on or diagonally.
Versatility:
Suitable for various interior and exterior floors and can be combined with borders and wall tiles.
Customisation:
Available in many colour combinations to suit both traditional and modern styles.
Supply:
Supplied loose, allowing flexible layouts to create a truly personal/bespoke finish.
The Ambleside layout shown is made up of 2 colours: Dover White and Black, incorporating 106×53 and 53×53 mm squares and rectangles. It is a simple, classic and stylish design, part of the Simple Geometry geometric patterns.
Patterns based on basket weave and woven effects are all possible by introducing the rectangle to the square. Shown here is just a pattern that can be achieved from the sizes and colours available.
When you mix different shapes with squares, interesting new patterns are possible, such as a simple grid like Edinburgh or Norwich, or the woven effects of Lincoln and Falkirk, both achieved by adding rectangles.
- A basket weave made up of small squares and rectangles. Add a simple printed border for the finishing touch. Shown in the brochure here with a Greek Key border (sold separately).
- Suitable for: hallway, kitchen, porch, path, conservatory, bathroom, public area, vestibule,…
- Grout: recommended gap is 2mm, and a light grey cement-based grout colour
- Fixing: Ensure tiles are clean and free of dust and dirt; seal the individual tiles before any installation commences
- Application: Indoor/Outdoor
- Pattern variations: Other colour combinations available
- Finish: Unglazed / Matt
